    Rejected officially

Newcastle United have confirmed The Premier League have officially rejected Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed takeover of the club. Mike Ashley, who is currently on Tyneside, is now understood to be considering his legal option

mate this might be clever from the Prem. If this goes to court and the decision is made that there were no grounds to reject.
Newcastle get new owners and the prem save face with the corrupt Qatar sponsors because the Prem ultimately didnt accept them

im maybe clutching at straws, had a couple of sherberts

statement below, definately a legal battle going on now

Timing seems to be a bit strange. The evening just after Chi Onwurah presented her petition and asked for clarity in Parliament. She did so around 7.25 and now this. Next few weeks/months could be interesting.

Why didn't they say this months ago instead of suggesting arbitration ? Methinks they know the Saudi's are history, mission accomplished.

im thinking towards the opposite. After Chi's speech today, the last thing the prem want is the government or some external group looking into their affairs. They have probably weighed up the options, a court case will take maybe the rest of the season, deal gets passed by the end of this coming season, parliamentary issue goes away.

Or, they remain silent, the UK government do their process, takes at least a year BUT they will look into the Prems dealings and find out they are as corrupt as Fifa,
sanctions are put in place, jail terms for those involved, a whole political issue with Qatar etc

Before the collapse of the Soviet Union all industries were run by the state,Abramovich had somehow made enough billions to buy into the now privatised oil and gas industry's.At the very least he was a big hitter on the black market but he owns Chelsea.

Abroad Real Madrid for years have been backed by the Spanish Royal Family,we have issued statements that there would be no interference from the Saudi Royal family.

Ashley should sue or at least appeal against that decision.

id be amazed if Ashley didnt take this to court. The prem were given written evidence from the highest court in the KSA stating that the government would not interfere in NUFC. The prem have dismissed this as lies. Who are they to determine who would be involved.
Even as the statement says, the rejection didnt come down to piracy or human rights, its purely the autonomy of the state

Quite a few journalists now saying new paperwork was submitted a few weeks ago. If true this would prove they are still interested and won't walk away lightly. Hence why we have a rejection, PL asked for more, got it and rejected. I just hope this gets messy for PL.
