    Deid - middleweight champion scrapper

Alan Minter, British, European, and very briefly WBC/WBA middleweight boxing title-holder (Hagler destroyed him to claim the world title), aged 69. When our first-born entered the ring of life 35 years ago after a bruising forceps delivery, my response to the question, "Fit dis the child look like?" was "Alan Minter".

Was that the fight when the beer cans and bottles came flying into the ring?

Hagler was brutal, loved him as a fighter.

    Memories from my childhood, RIP

I was at Ibrox on 11 May 1991. Hell on earth.

Otherwise, you are correct. Fairy stories about imaginary pals in the sky.

I was in hospital for the birth of my son but the ex decided to hold until the 12th. Never forgave her for not making it the 11th.

The Minter/Hagler fight ended up in a near riot as everything rained down on the ring.

This was around the time when the middleweight division really was good with the likes of Hagler, Duran, Leonard, Hearns and Benitez.

Leonard destroying Hagler. Loved watching Leonard.

Destroyed? Was a controversial split decision
