Otherwise, you are correct. Fairy stories about imaginary pals in the sky.
I was in hospital for the birth of my son but the ex decided to hold until the 12th. Never forgave her for not making it the 11th.

The Minter/Hagler fight ended up in a near riot as everything rained down on the ring.

This was around the time when the middleweight division really was good with the likes of Hagler, Duran, Leonard, Hearns and Benitez.

Leonard destroying Hagler. Loved watching Leonard.

Destroyed? Was a controversial split decision

It was a weird split. I think one of the judges gave it to Leonard by 7 rounds.

I used to bevy occasionally in my unc's local The Sporting Life boozer in Bethnal Green, way back when. Alan Minter took part in a darts night and (jokingly) threatened his opponent with a doing if he got beat. Good laugh as I recall.

I recall that fight and, though nae being a boxing expert, I recall the decision being a bit hooky.
There was talk afterwards of some dodgy reason that Leonard won but I canna mind the detail.
Yer right though, proper Mannies' middleweight division in them days.

Always liked Hagler best of them.
