    another twist

the saudi government have sanctioned a media group to be created in order to maybe purchase the club.

Therefore the club will be state owned without MBS having anything to do with it.

Exactly what the PL have asked for and the same route that Man City took

    Where is that from?

Interesting that this has happened within hours/days of that bloke leaving his role at Premier League.

by the looks of it, they are going all out to batter BeIN sports too.

Strange with all the goings on in the last few days, Mike kicking off, reports they were expecting the green light on the takeover, PL statement saying its not rejected, the snitch from the PL stepping down, UK government getting involved, the court case for bribery and corruption against the Qatar BeIN sports owner started today, now this from KSA

all in the last 48 hours

    @sport_jazirah

The Council of Ministers approved the establishment of a "media company" to be owned by the state, while granting the Ministry of Sports the necessary powers to complete the procedures for establishing the company

its starting to trickle through onto social media now

I was under the impression it was more to do with buying tv rights - and putting the boot into Bein sports than anything to do with our takeover. Anyway hope they squash Bein sports flat

the Prem may be forced to cut ties with BeIN sports and pull the plug like they have just done in China if that slimey ****er who owns BeIN and PSG is found guilty of bribery and corruption with Fifa.

Cant have the brand associated with corrupt organisations now can they.

In steps Saudi Arabia with a nice new sports broadcast company offering to buy the rights fro the skint PL.

Massive can of worms if they dont approve the takeover

There was news , somewhere out there ( I know I should take notice of who is saying what), that ashley is gonna spend cash on revamping the gym for the players ?????? someone is inputting cash into our club if this happens - cos thats not off cashleys own back

same as the players we bought - apparently those that were identified by the consortium,

The takeover could be dead but it seems like there has still been stuff going on in the background since the 30th July. Suppose the best way to protect the asset in the long term if they are still determined to buy the club is the sort of signings they’ve made to give the club a chance of staying up for another year whilst playing the long game with the EPL. When you look at the timings previously, it seems that the consortium pressed the button to go after the Southampton win when it would’ve taken a ridiculous chain of events to get relegated and if recent actions on player recruitment buys them time this season hopefully they’ll go again if they think it can be legally done.

lots of rumours going about suggesting, MA and the consortium have reached an agreement for the time being that, MA sells 50% of his stake, 30% to PIF, 10% to Stavely and 10% to Reubens.
This way, it completely bypasses the owners test as MA is still the majority shareholder. MA is still the face of the club but lets Charnely run the club under the guidence of the consortium.
MA just sits back, lets them get on with it and makes a profit in the long run.

Sounds like something MA would come up with, would be funny if it was true like.

I still think they wil get in through the back door once this BeIN corrution thing is concluded. It has to be why the Saudi's have set up the broadcasting company, so they can get the rights and be a PL partner and becasue its not part of the PIF, there cant be a conflict of interests.
