Brereton makes Bell look like Eusebio!
He needs to go out on loan, possibly to the Sunday league.

Brereton put himself about for two minutes near the end, I suggest that's all we pay him for.
    P i s s poor.

I do like the change in style and new defenders will help. But who do we have upfront to press home the advantage? I'm not sure it's Arma's style either.

Played well and created alot of chances they failed to convert. And conceded another goal in a game they where rarley threatened. I'm sure everyone will pat them on the back they'll them they are fine and nothing to worry about.

4 wins in 14 games now

Gallagher who has shown no real promise. That's a concern.
Brereton who lets face it, is crap. We can dress it up, defend him, ask for game time etc etc. He like SG, isn't a goal scorer.
Armstrong who is our main man. Fair enough.
Dack who could tell? Thats a bad injury and he may not return the same player.
    Rothwell just 2 goals.

The midfield do not score goals. Johnson, Travis and Evans managed 4 goals between the 3 of them all of last season. Rothwell just 2 goals.
Holtby missed alot of last season, and did get a couple. Buckley one (or was it 2?) Davenport won't score, you have already seen him in front goal.
All of them added together may get around 10 goals over a 46 game season.
And offer no real protection for the defence.
Hopefully JRC starts scoring, which I am sure he will bag a few. Same with Dolan.

I only saw positives tonight against a solid premier League opponent..

I'll stick my neck out and say this Rovers side will finish between 1st and 8th imo.

Don't try to find positives, Saxo.
    It's frowned upon.
I thought 90% of our play was very good. The finishing let us down. Another expertly taken goal for the opposition against a defence which, otherwise, looked pretty secure.
I still don't think we should let Williams go. He reads the game well, and he gets into a fair number of scoring-positions too.
I'm still not sure why we couldn't play a back line of Nyambe, Lenihan, Ayala and Williams.
That doesn't even necessarily mean getting rid of Bell, but the more we see of him, the more he looks like a left-sided midfielder!

I said above we played well, dominated play and conceded a goal in a game that rarely threatened. What was incorrect?

Interesting looking at their side. One player - Matt Ritchie who was signed on a free will be in their match day squad on sat for a league game. All the rest are their reserve team playing our strongest 11. Apart from our only player who can score goals.

I would fully expect our first team to get at least one goal against Newcastle reserves. And give them a game. Other than Richie nobdy else in their 11 last night plays regularly in the Prem. So to be happy we lost to a 'Prem' side is massively inacturate.
Newcastle are a Prem side. The side they had out last night was not. And we still lost. And didn't manage to score.
    Holbty missed a few sitters.

And the prices paid for their "reserves"?
