Newcastle away Tue 15/09 Carabao Cup Match Thread

    It's a pointless competition.
A chance to meld the team together or play the kids?
One of the key aspects of success is a settled team. Another basic trick for TM to learn.

If Newcastle play a half strong side. Defeat. Pick your scoreline. If they play a bunch of kids and we play a strong side, Rovers may get a win. If Fisher plays they wont get anything. Whether they play their under 12's or not.

We will concede. That goes without saying. 3-1 defeat

I am fearing a young team on our part and a strong Newcastle team.
Could be a very possible 5-1 loss if it pans out in that scenario.

Will Newcastle put out a strong team?
I don't think anyone treats this competition particularly seriously.
I assume we'll use Kaminski, just because he needs as much familiarity with our other players as possible, and I'd guess Armstrong would be desperate to play!
I'd like to see Buckley paired with Evans and Bennett in midfield.
Should be a good game. These minor-cup matches, though, are even harder to forecast than League games.
I don't think Lenihan and Nyambe should be risked, but we DO have to persevere with Bell, in case we can't get a replacement.

It sounds as if Mowbray has decided to put out a strong team.
A bit of a risk, I think, if it includes our front-line defenders.

Risky but potentially it could be mid October before we get any new signings especially if we get a player from abroad.
Playing pretty much the same back 4 will help gain stability.
The only one I would change is nyambe,he is prone to injury.

I love the pressing game, the higher the better. Has someone taught our old dog new tricks?
I know I should but I can't believe TM is responsible

35 mins played. We have dominated possession, and conceded another goal.
That will be a phrase you will hear alot this season.
