    Lejeune out on loan

    To Alaves.

    Why?

He and Schär are our best defenders with Fernandez coming close IMO.

I think Lejeune has been a rock when he's not been injured.

Can't understand Bruce's distaste for Schär and Lejeune, they have both been brilliant bargains.

Anyway, as long as we're winning, I'm not entitled to complain I guess.

Well, I think you are, tbh. It's a fair question. My guess is that Bruce prefers his CBs to be old-school and quite happy to thump it forward for Saint Maximin to chase.

He's been unlucky with injuries but, when fit, our best defender by a mile, imo.

Remains to be seen but it's a big.mistake and a backward step, to my.mind.

He said yesterday that he sent him out to try and get game time to recover from all his injuries.

I like Schar but he is injured at the moment,I think he could play further forward just in front of the back 4.

    I don't think worst move.

He has had 2 bad ACL injuries, he needs game time to recover, he won't get that here so a loan move makes sense.

Although totally agree that face Bruce's preference is old school CB played a part.

I must admit I don't buy the "he needs game time"-argument.

We know his qualities. He should be getting game time here.

Ciaran Clark also needs game time, but he's still with us.

He is not fit enough for the 90 minutes of 100 mph pace in the Prem,in Spain he will have more time to settle and build up his match fitness,in the recent friendly against Boro he was well off the pace according to reports.

I agree. The management of his recuperation is now out of the hands of our club (actually, on second thoughts, that might actually help him recover quicker).

We wanna build up his match fitness, so we loan him out for an entire season? That's laughable.

Players in Spain get injured as well. If he's not fit, wait until he's fit and then play him.

Let the lad get some game time. Clearly Bruce doesn’t fancy him. Also he’s always injured, through no fault of his own of course. Can’t really miss him given he’s hardly played the last few years

All we've done is miss him! Didn't you watch us last season? Defence was a shambles.
