Just thinking about Martinez going for 17 million. That's obviously the biggest value any of our ex players have gone for. Thinking about some of the players we've had, what do you reckon their value could have been in today's market.

With regards DW, we sold him in December 1970 for 100,000 when the British transfer record was 200,000 (Martin Peters WHU->Spurs). So even on a like for like basis on transfer fees alone (without any conjecture of how good he was compared to Maguire) if DW was worth 50% of today's record (105M Coutinho Liverpool-Barca) he'd fetch 52.5M, a nice sum for a 3rd tiered player at the time.
