Barnsley have seen a bid to sign Dinamo Zagreb forward Sandro Kulenović turned down by the player.
That’s according to Sportske Novosti and Tportal, who both say a move to the Championship side will not be happening this summer.
Sportske report that Barnsley ‘sent an offer’ to Maksimir Stadion that was two-fold, offering a loan deal with the possibility of buying his contract at the end of it or immediately signing the striker this summer.
This is backed up by Tportal, who say the same but add that Barnsley were willing to pay €3m for a permanent deal.
Dinamo were ‘willing to consider’ the deal, particularly as they need to plug a €15m hole in their finances after they were knocked out of the Champions League earlier this week.
However, everything was ‘cut short’ by Kulenović who openly told those in charge at Dinamo that he wanted to stay at the club.
Both sources say he believes that he can prove himself, something he hasn’t had a chance to do so far after a metatarsal injury and the break due to the Coronavirus limited his chances.
Thus he ‘refused’ the move to England, with Tportal stating it seems ‘there will be nothing’ in regards to this transfer.
