What gets me is why do some people not like the thought of equality in general black/ white whatever? Why should it bother them? What skin is it off their nose if everyone is treated fairly? Indeed, arguably many would gain if EVERYONE was treated fairly...

I don't see myself as poor but I wouldn't deny folks the chance to have a similar standard of living as me. Why would I?

I dunno if this is true or not but good on them for supporting their poor brothers and sisters round the world. I wouldn't call myself poor but I would support causes and policies that make poor people more equal.

I haven't seen much evidence of that Roly. Systemic racism is the underlying driver, specifically in the police but generically everywhere, by every white person apparently if you allow yourself to be brainwashed by them.

There are levels of inequality.

Why is there no socialist utopia? Because powerful capitalists ensure there aint one because it would be no good for them. There are many ways they do this but one of the ways they do this is by divide and rule. This is quite evident on here. eg Scapegoating the poor/ blacks etc so the ordinary folks dont blame the rich and powerful but blacks and "benefit scroungers" etc in other words poor people. Taxing the rich/ sharing resources for a start. Valuing those who are useful to running a fair society rather than those who are not. In short looking after everybody not just number one as capitalism does.
