A ***** cog in Watford's relegation and ours.

    He's a perfect fit!

There's no doubt that we are in trouble at the back both regarding the goal keeper and defence. I don't blame Johnstone for all of yesterday's goals but as so many of you state, he doesn't inspire confidence. Our defending on set pieces is appalling. Was Hegazi fit for yesterday's game? If you look back at his performances in the Premier Division, they were pretty good. He has to come back for the Chelsea game but I'm afraid that alone isn't going to solve our problems.

Hegazi picked up a small injury in training. Going forward I would like to see him and Ivanovic at the centre of our defence.

Totally agree Bills. O'Shea should move to right hand side of back four as his defensive heading ability is poor. I'm afraid that I don't rate Ajayi very highly as he seems a player who doesn't have a proper position. We may struggle in the left back position now that Gibbs is going to be out as Townsend is out of his depth in this higher class of football.

I haven’t read all of this thread so comments may already have been made. What will Bilic do if Button has another sound display against Brentford? How long is Hagazi out for? Will Bilic play a fit Hagazi or stick with Bartley and/or Ajayi alongside Ivanovic? Will we sign Grant? What is the likelihood of a LB being signed? We would all like answers, I would like opinions.

How deep do you expect us to defend if they are our centre back pairing? the reason Hagazi doesn't play that much under Bilic is with him in the team and his lack of pace is we defend at least 10 yards deeper, Hagazi looked OK in a Pulis defence because he didn't have to run more than 20 yards and wasn't in danger of being out paced.
