The "Highland League", however, is looking more and more like a misnomer.
It’s been a misnomer for a long time. Only Nairn, Clach (1990), Strathspey, Brora and Wick are in the cultural Highlands. One assumes that Fort William will be out, and probably join the NCL, who put up no eligible candidate for the HL play-offs.

Whilst the Highland area lost The Masons who subsumed Thistle, and Race County, that’s been compensated by the elevations of Strathspey, Fort William, and Wick Academy. Brora were only admitted in 1962.

In the NE Lowlands as defined by Hugh Mungus’s granda, Elgin, Peterheid, and Sevcove moved up, but Turriff, Formartine, the horribly-entitled but laughable Locos, and Brechin via relegation, have joined the Proper Mannies’ clubs east of the Findhorn.

Fraserburgh beat Bonnyrigg 1-0 yesterday, but go out 3-2 on aggregate. Must have been a fairly intense game.
