Too late for this cut-short season, but very welcome news for the Highland League in today’s Psephology & Junta - the Toon Clock (aka the Institute Clock) in Keith is now fully operational again after being out of order for...och ****ing ages.

Clearly visible from the covered enclosure of TUHOIGPMF, for decades it was the sole judge and arbiter of time elapsed (there is none of that injury time poovery in the Highland League - you just pick up the shattered bones of your left leg, throw them to the physio and pick them up at the final whistle) and the imminence of half time or full time.

This will be a major boon to referees, with shouted advice from spectators as to the progress of the big hand with its smaller counterpart progressing past the IIII indicator, as the match nears its final denouement.

No more need for checking of quartz watches, or in-ear updates from the Greenwich atomic clock by officials as they are apprised of the near-intersection of the big hand and the VIII, with the plucky Maroons holding out for a deserved 2-1 triumph over Locos or Buckie, “Hemmin, ref min, the Toon Clock’s twa minutes by yokin time and my supper’ll be on the table at five o’clock”.

A Proper Mannies’ Highland League institution re-born.

I’ve always fancied taking in a highland league game. Even more so now that one of them put hearts out the cup 🤣

How many games did both teams play this season ??

Doesn't look good on Highland league , but not really a true reflection given the lack of game time they have had.

    Brechin will struggle against Kelty.

FFS 4-6-0 and sub-hun brutality in the Highland League.

    **** off, Mrs Merton.

Fixture list published. Maroons first three:

    Nrn (h)
    Brechin (a)
    Thickie Bustle (a)

Not a bad start. I’d expect it to be into February before we pull away to become runaway champions by mid-April.
