Classic example of the infamous "game of two halves". First 45 they pressed the life out of us basically, they were of course aided by our usual slow start and lack of concentration. They would never be able to keep it up for the full 90 which of they didn't. Should have won it in the end, easily had enough chances. Their late goal put an unrealistic slant to the final score, but really it was one missed for us.

Certainly positives to be taken from the game, plenty of, in the end, decent performances through out the team but unless we do something about our generally lackadaisical approach to the first 90, regardless of the opposition, we will always be at a handicap.

Beating, or even getting points off of, Man City three straight matches was always going to be a tough task. It wasn’t easy for them and they were sweating til their third goal. Wolves have very winnable matches in the Prem through the rest of September and October. Onward and upward

We were very slow to start and City looked a class above. Their passing and movement will have sent shockwaves to many teams in the Premiership. Traore was totally wasted in the first half, offering very little going forward, and as a result our best attacking option was non existent.

We were unlucky to concede a penalty when Saiss made his reckless tackle, not long after Sterling should have had a card for diving. Their second goal was a superb team effort. At this point it looked a case of how many? City wearing shirts that resembled microscopic pictures of the Corona virus were looking superb.

As often happens Wolves came out like Wolves and started to put the Man city side under some pressure. Could it be a repeat of last season? Podence missed two chances before Jimenez slid one wide, as the Old gold waves kept putting City on the back foot. A nutmeg on last seasons player of the year and a perfect cross from Podence, enabled Jimenez to do what he does best and we were back in it. Could we dream? We huffed and puffed but City gained a degree of control and clawed their way back into control.

Their third was cruel in the 5th minute of 4 minutes injury time. It made the score line look bad, but in retrospect if you don't take your chances you are not going to win many games.

The blue side of Manchester will take some beating this year and should run Liverpool close. As Mich states we have some very winnable games coming up and we must put the chances away.

A new right back should solve a problem and free Adama to do what he does best, terrorise defenders. Mendy must dread playing against him. Again Neto worked really hard and Podence is clearly going to cause mayhem to defenders.
