    Villans 1 Blades 0

A nervous match against ten men for 78 mins.
Good penalty save from Martinez and goal from Konsa in 63rd minute.

Grateful for this game V the Blades as I needed to sleep off a cold.

Up against 10 men we created nowt & toiled like rice farmers paddling around in a muddy paddy field

I've seen baby hedgehogs who are more threatening than Trezeguet

As for the penalty Targett’s positional sense (as per usual) its non excitant, you always feel like a groaning defensive mistake is going to happen

    Impressed by Martinez

    What he said!

Credit to them for their organised defensive display but think we made it easy for them, wish Luiz would pull the trigger more often.

First game and yes not fluid, this is why its best not to make whoke sale changes.
    For me......
    Martinez....excellent
    Cash ....no better than Guilbert
    Watkins......exposed
    Jack.....looked tired
    Mings & Konsa lookes solid
    Targett unlucky, never a penalty

    3 points.....were off and I'm happy tonight.

Not overly impressed, not overly critical. 2pts more than we got in the same fixture last season and at least we seemed confident on the ball.

Great debut for Martinez, Cash was solid (crikey Dave, what were you watching?) and Watkins will settle once he can read our midfield.

Targett, Trez and CH??? I give up.

Typical first game of the season performance quite sluggish really well taken goal by Konsa text book finish.

As for the sending off if that was a red card I’m a llamas belly button really tbh football these days really has become a bit of fairy’s game.

However I’ll take the win 3 points is 3 points and a great save for the pen

A great result and I'm sorry but Cash looks excellent. He was being bossed about by Martinez, Sam as Konsa. I like that!....

The early cross that Matty put in shows why he could well be played in front of Guilbert, in a midfield role.

Sheff Utd were very organised and had 19 men back as soon as their cheat was sent off.

Great result. Onwards and upwards. Need a stronger bench. Davis isn't the answer to anything. Rachica or Benrahma coming on would have been exciting!

Agree with Sam I like what I saw from Matty not afraid to come forward and have a couple of pops either. Not a brilliant performance but new players to gel and a win's a win I don't care how they come. The lad and I were up at 4.45am and enjoyed every minute. Thought the sending off was harsh.

Okay hold on a minute, cash for me was ok going forward but defensivly the same as Guilbert. I didnt say I did not like him but did not see 15million in an improvement. I agree, we may well have played him on the wing as Trez was disapointing again!
