Players know now they just have to leave a trailing leg on the way down and nine times out of ten they'll get a pen awarded. the system becomes self fulfilling, if VAR gives it they'll keep doing it.

There must be a new rule in the premiership that you are not allowed to touch an opposing player in the penalty area. Brighton just scored one against Scum. Truthfully, I have seen more contact in womens matches without a penalty given.

Brighton almost got another one! Ref actually gave a pen but after VAR he reversed it. Brighton player actually reached behind and pulled Pogba's shirt towards him to get contact. Then he fell down.

Scum win with a last second penalty. It is now 13 penalties awarded in just 18 matches.

It’s all gone a little bit bonkers they should also look at people trying to draw penalties and initiating contact - surely not gentlemanly conduct?
Part of the problem is that players cynically look for any and every advantage. Then pretend it is being professional. A professional foul is not professional foul it is cheating. Similarly trying to con the ref etc is cheating.

Penalty!! Everton get a penalty for handball against Palace. Terrible. 14 in 19 matches. I think there will be 150 penalties by the end of the season.

Refs should be made to watch replays in real time. It looks much worse in slowmo. Never a pen. Games becoming a joke.
