Meeting this afternoon but whether or not we get any kind of statement from them is debatable based on previous experience!

I completely agree with the clubs position on this matter.

It can only be speculated that this afternoons meeting will result in it being decided a vote being put to all member clubs as to whether they want the season to commence or not? If it does then I guess it would be behind closed doors until next year?

If the stumbling block for some clubs starting the season is the triggering of contracts and with no income it would put clubs in a perilously difficult financial position then that’s where support will be required.

Streaming games would provide some income and is better than nothing. The chancellor has announced a replacement for furlough in the form of a job support scheme. So if something along these lines of a government contribution to the players wages this would surely help clubs?

With less than 10 days until the start of the season there is not much time.

Apparently the season will start on October 3:

Hearing that the National League is poised to say the new season will commence on Oct 3rd. Awaiting confirmation. Statement due shortly.
National League North earlier today said most of its clubs didn’t want to start.

If so, some common sense from the NL at last and maybe even a decision in a single meeting. Wonders will never cease.

Only four of the 22 want to play. If that league gets cancelled then those four should be allowed to play off for two promotion places.

Confirmed that they are engaged with the government on a support package, but not the start date.

York will definitely be one of them. They shouldn’t lose out because the others don’t want to play - maybe a few teams will drop out of the National League, like Dover, and need replacing. It’s going to get messy, whatever happens.

These people are unbelievable. Incapable of making a decision - same farce as last season with the playoffs.

The clubs have said they don’t want to play without fans OR government support. Government currently suggesting £40000 per club per month to include money for streaming games
