    Howdy!

It's only coming out now that they have been lying about the deaths. Care homes account for a 3rd of the actual death toll. Which purposely where being left out. We have the 2nd highest death rate in europe. By the end of this, we will be the highest. Incompetence has lead to this, nothing else.
People out clapping the NHS on their doorsteps every Thurs at 8pm is a joke. Most of them voted Tory.
Boris, Raab, etc all stood and applauded themselves in Parliment in 2017 because they refused a 1% pay increase for NHS staff. Now they divert the attention away from their own mistakes by talking up the same NHS they decimated over the past 10 years.

Aucks, your PM has handled things so well. Ours has done everything completely wrong.
He wasnt ill. He was kept out of the way for 2 weeks. And now hes gone on paternity leave. He hasn't been our PM since he became PM.

This country will be on its arse for decades after all this. And one saving grace, over the coming years more and more will come out re the lies, incompetence etc. That resulted in thousands dying. And they keep throwing money at the problem meaning we will probably never financially recover.

At least the bottom will fall out of football, which is a good thing. The average players in the Champ gets paid £26k a week. That will stop. Premier league footballers will become a joke. And no longer relevant.
Folk wont be able to afford to carry on going to football. My season ticket wont be renewed. I know now that I simply wouldn't be able to afford that luxury. Thousands like me wont. Loads of clubs will fold which is sad to see, like Bury.
It will all catch up with Rovers eventually. Even Venkys have now been massively affected by all of this.
Well hi de hi guys !!! 👋
Umm wot can I say 🤔🤨
Pretty much on same page as Champs and Seventwo, re : crisis and our esteemed and un-elected sideline ‘leaders’.
I could ramble on for days about my seriously increased ‘Despair’😉
Ironically not though over my town team and it’s prospects.🙂
Clown prince Bo Jo ‘in charge’ of foolish Brexit. It’s giving me ball aching issues to deal with.
Now a virus has arrived (not the first though, even in my lifetime). It would seem we’ve never had to ‘deal’ with one before 🤔.
However, this one requires us to dismantle life from top to bottom .
Bo Jo thinks he’s Churchill mk II 😂. Does anyone seriously think his hero would have reacted in this way taking advice from Cummings and the rest 🙄.
Sorry if all disagree but priority was shield the real vulnerable and have us use basic common sense to take personal responsibility.
The message of ‘save the nhs’ really meant please don’t expose our utter incompetence with our decimation of its ‘abilities’ when faced with a challenge such as this.
    Rant over on that topic.
Me I’m 67 and hold no fear at all for my ‘future’, it’s my and others offspring I fear for jobs / prospects wise. The bill for this is just around the corner.
Anyhow , Dolan 🙂. I simply read it as he was knocking on AN’s door sayin play me I’m good enough , but didn’t get a response.
Let’s hope he’s got his head screwed on and listens, here with us.

    Roll on 2023 😉

    Welcome back, Despair.
    We've missed you!
I agree with most of what you say, but not "...priority was shield the real vulnerable and have us use basic common sense to take personal responsibility."
They tried it in Sweden and they now have nearly 12 times as many dead per million as neighbouring Norway.
To be honest, I don't think there is an "answer" to COVID, but trying to achieve herd-immunity without a vaccine has not worked. Stockholm's worst-hit suburb only has 16% of its inhabitants with antibody immunity, and the nation as a whole has 8%. The generally accepted level require for herd-immunity is 67-70%.
New Zealand certainly got it right, but - of course - remote islands have it easier.

That’s fine Aucks (your disagreement), even though my view is not aimed at herd immunity as a concept. I tend to view the overall damage incurred to society in general in balance against the damaging measures introduced.
I make no apology in saying I just do not trust the politicians in general.
The graphs, numbers and charts produced are for me highly questionable, even though I have always leaned towards ‘probabilities’ in making judgements on things.
We’re a carbon based life form and we’re vulnerable from birth throughout our lives and at any time we can and do succumb.
Tragic as that is, it’s factual and is a certainty (almost as much as taxation).

I rushed out to Dubai to see my grandson in March and with it took a risk, luckily just about ‘getting away with it’. In doing so repeated my concern and warning to my family that it was because I reckoned not only Easter, but also Summer and possibly next Xmas was out in seeing him or his parents. Now increasing looking like being so. Relatively small price to pay in comparison to those losing livelihoods and or loved ones . But nevertheless ‘important’ to me.

Interesting piece I read of Blair’s part in denouncing Bo Jo’s Brexit withdrawal busting bill as international ‘law breaking’, does this mean he will be ‘handing himself in’ for his part with Iraq invasion 🤔. I truly think not.
    Politicians eh 😒

    Good to hear from you!

    I'm currently in Germany.
They have a reliable track and trace system which they offered to us but killer Boris turned it down.

Life here is pretty much normal, except social distancing in queues and masks in shops etc. But the Germans are far better educated and more civilised than the hapless Brits.

    72,
Couldn’t agree more ie Germans, I normally travel through and among them many a time a year (that’s specifically Bavaria).
This is one facet of why we are being ‘dealt with’ as we are.
Even though I disagree with the heavy handed approach, I can see why they are taking the measures they are.
I believe the eventual consequence will outweigh the risk though.
That’s alongside the possible double whammy of Brexit.
    Great times eh.

I’m fine and dandy and just getting on with life pretty much as I always have , whilst taking personal responsibility for myself and others (again which I always have).
Hope it’s the same for yourself.
TBH over this calendar year, out on the roads on my bike before lockdown was fully lifted it was great and felt really safe. However, since it’s been lifted there has appeared many death wish motorists doing irresponsible and downright dangerous stuff.
I feel that every time I head out on road and even in my car I am going to be ‘involved’.
Far far more unsettling and scary than Covid in my book.
Yet I and many still do it 🤔.

    Up the Clarets😉

Hey Despair. Fantastic to hear from you. Glad your back. I just wanted to to know I predicted this amazing start. And never lost faith. These other miserable gits on here all lost faith so quickly. Aucks was the worst. They all need to listen to me more.

Hope you’re keeping well Champs (under the ‘circumstances’)🤨
Don’t really know how to take that above without searching way back on postings😉.
Me personally I’ve not seen a removal and change of manager being a good idea , of course like others I’ve had my doubts over some choices of player, position and match plan. But, all things considered TM has been a god send for us, I fail to see how we could attract another that would be a significant improvement.
It’s certainly looking good 3 games in, but it’s only 3 games and it’s all about going the distance.
In some ways this current crisis maybe puts us in a better position to compete ie all clubs now are in dire straits going forward.
