    Motherwell lose 5-1 to Rangers

Motherwell conceded five to Rangers at Fir Park. The gift of an own goal hardly mattered. 5-1 - External Link

An absolute disgrace of a performance but typical of us against the Old Firm, particularly Rangers. We have no belief that we can get anything and we are so naive in our defending and make the same, unforced errors to gift them goals/penalties. We are a poorly coached team and have too many players who just aren't good enough for this level. That, along with our defeatist attitude as a club, meant performances and results like that are always likely.

We didn't 'gift' them the penalties; the ref. did that. And I can also only think that he didn't notice Kamara flattening Campbell in the box. We lost today to a better team which had better individual players. Disappointing, but never going to define our season.
PS: the number of pens being given against us over recent games is getting close to statistically unlikely. They weren't all 'stone- wallers'. When will we get our share, I wonder?

Both penalties they got were correct awards going by the laws of the game. It was naive defending to have their arms in such a position in both cases. We should though have been awarded at least one penalty ourselves but in reality it wouldn't have made any difference overall because our performance was pathetic.
