The good lady as an old iPhone 4 if you're interested. That's a really tiny screen. I keep telling her to upgrade but she won't have it.
I'm getting ready for a new mobile. I'm running a xiaomi m5s which has been a fantastic phone and I would recommend anyone to buy Xiaomi. Problem is the new ones are now a lot bigger. This started a few years ago when a phone became accessories.
Mine is 5.1 screen
Xiaomi Mi10 has a 6.2 screen.
Xiaomi redme 9 pro. 6.7
Xiaomi Poco 6.3.
Any recommendations for a phone with smaller screen?

Do you only have tiny hands Cayton? 😎
Samsung Galaxy S10e
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
Google Pixel 4
Google Pixel 4a
iPhone SE 2020
All smaller phones.

And the Samsung Galaxy A41 although it has a 6.1" screen it's still quite compact.
It's not so much the using it. It's putting it in my pocket. I use the breast pocket in my work shirt. If I can't fasten the button it falls out everytime I bend over. It wouldn't be the first time I have dug it out of a bucket of plaster
It's not just about the screen though, now that phones have smaller bezels you can get a bigger screen on a smaller phone, you have to look at the length and width of the phone.
The iPhone SE 2020 has a 4.7 inch screen anyway, that's smaller.
If you look at this phone finder you can put in the screen size and othe variables and look for the phone you want:

Here are all the phones released in 2019 and 2020 with a screen between 5" and 5.5" for example:
