Woodrow to Cardiff rumour gathering pace.

What started as a rumour involving "in the know" fans has now been confirmed on the Cardiff City Official Twitter by the Cardiff City correspondent Glen Williams---

"I understand Cardiff City are in talks with Barnsley over signing Cauley Woodrow.
The Bluebirds like him because he can play both striker and Centre Attacking Midfield"

It is understood an initial bid of £1.5 million was rejected but an increased bid up to £2.5 million could clinch the deal.

This one could have legs. We have the reassurance of Dane's recent words however that no further players will be sold so we should be OK.

As ever SB it ain't about the player moving on its the standard of the replacement coming in that's the issue .

You are tasking yourself with having to replace 15 Championship goals on the fee we will receive , that's the problem .

An example of this problem would be selling the heart of the meanest defence in league one and replacing it with for the most part the most generous back four in the championship .

If we were attaining £8m to ten for Woodrow you'd have a reasonable chance to replace those goals .

You are also now limited to the domestic market for a replacement to compound the matter .

Knowing when to sell seems to escape the suits on Grove Street and something clearly they can't seem to get a grasp on .

No problem with players moving on , its the model but as ever the management of this model is why its not working .

There’ll be a lot of unhappy fans if we give him away for £2.5m

This is the area where fans criticism of the ownership stack up and should always be at the forefront how to challenge them in my opinion .

Fans have to accept the fact they are foreign investors looking to profit from the club and criticise them on their performance of the model they own .

This criticism has legs and facts behind it because as managers of this model they are absolutely utterly fecking useless .

Utterly fecking useless even with the guy on board from Oakland who invented the model , how shyte is it possible to be ? .

Whilst they search Austria for undeveloped talent which is the equivalent of scouting the Scottish leagues the moneyball brains are in France , Belgium and the German bundesliga ll .

As I say criticise them on their competence because so far they are failing massively , the majority of the successful league one squad were recruited under Cryne .

The only player of note they've hit the mark with in Woodrow is going to be sold for a fee that in reality isn't going to change things financially too much and even worse it actually threatens championship retention and the loss of £7m of tv revenue .

These people are amateurs masquerading as people who believe they know what they are doing .

They clearly don't and they are taking the fans down with them .

Another one that passes them by is that players who play in more succesful teams attract bigger fees .

Pinnock was a £3m defender at Barnsley well what's his worth today at Brentford by having better players around him ? .

Remember Alfie Mawson who we got £6.5m for from then PL Swansea , not a bad fee on reflection .

Here's the thing though , he's sold for that amount because he was part of a very successful league one side who then hit the championship running the following season with Roberts , Yiadom and Bree at his side plus Hourihane running midfield and Winnall scoring goals .

    Of course he's £6.5m ffs !!! .

It’s a good incentive for any new manager they’re looking to bring in.
Already sold one of the first team without an adequate replacement on now asking a mere £2.5m for a proven championship player with a very good goal tally. We’ve become the Primark of the EFL.
