Is he playing in goal now? Know what you mean tho, he might have been pretty handy round these parts...said so at the time actually.

Just a shame he was out of contract and RN was still in charge when he was leaving

Hand on heart, although Watson was outstanding for us last season I really didn’t/don’t think he is/was good enough for what we need in the Premier League. Having said that, if we were going to be replacing him with Edwards then we may as well have been sticking with Paul.

Totally, still think we could have done better than Edwards though surely? I wonder who Neilson would have had lined up - I guess we’ll never know.....................

Watson ended up at Dunfermline. There are 11 other clubs in the Premiership that could have signed him if he was Premiership quality and refused to do so.

Paul Watson may or may not be Premier League level; but he fitted the team at the the time and was forming a good partnership; that gave us an unbeaten run last season. He could have done so now. Sometimes what are considered average players just click because of what is around them or they have an understanding. Not sure any CB paring we have at the moment has that. Yes he had mistakes in him to but no more than what is on offer now. He certainly was a lot calmer than Connolly and he occasionally chipped in with goals. I for one would have kept him and he is no worse than some of our competition's defenders e.g. Coll Donaldson

Agreed mate, i think he would have been better too. Sadly we'll never know
