    Away kit/Change kit.

Can anyone explain why a team plays in its change strip when away from home when there is no colour clash. Often there is more of a colour clash when the change strip is used. The reason cannot be financial as clubs do have to have a change strip when there is an obvious colour clash e.g. Arsenal v Liverpool. Third strips are obviously just a money grabbing exercise and to my mind shouldn't be allowed. It's now getting to the stage where sides wear their second strip automatically when playing away.
I was pleased to see us in blue and white stripes away to Southampton last week as they are our club colours and should be worn on all occasions except when there is an obvious colour clash. This may be a minor point but I feel that the identity of a club is important.

Watched Man City v Arsenal yesterday and must say why on earth did Arsenal change from their red kit to play in dark blue, only reason I can think of is a clash of shorts

I couldn't agree more. It should always be the blue and white stripes wherever possible just as in other cases it should always be claret and blue, old gold and black etc etc. The green and yellow is fine but it should be what it is supposed to be i.e a change strip where there is an obvious colour clash. I find what happens to be both disappointing and disrespectful to the blue and white stripes.

I’ve been going on about this for a long time now; no interest by most clubs now for tradition regarding colours. Maybe it’s a contract issue with kit manufacturers? I find it very annoying. It’s another irritating aspect of the game that is gradually putting me off football.
