    Stoke ...... full time

    Uuurgh !!!
Two mistakes - 2 goals for Stoke.
    TWO POINTS DROPPED !!!!
Stoke as a club - if they don’t get in to the top 6 by the end of the season then there will be hell to play in Stoke.
And yet Barnsley time and time and time and time again let them off the hook.
How long can Barnsley supporters bare this foooking frustration.
    It’s horrendous !!!!!!!!

I’m not bothered how good Stoke are supposed to be and how much money their squad is worth - in reality they were there for the taking.
So I would have grabbed a draw at the start - but after watching it I’m totally disappointed.
    Again.

    On the plus side.
In Kane we have a replacement for Mowatt.
We now have a player that delivers the ball sharper and more direct.
We had the usual Mowatt display - at best floppy and limp wristed.
Mark my words he’ll be on the bench by the end of the season.

As for Palmer - even though he’s still a young player - his 1st half display proves he is a quality Championship player.

In summary - effort is still there - but there was a lapse in concentration for their first goal.
Barnsley will get stronger as the season goes on.

Negative - another 2 points dropped because these owners haven’t built a proper squad - especially in options for centre forward.

    Interesting views Nudge.

(Don't forget we try to keep to one thread on one subject on here, particularly match days. It's not like BBS where 16 threads appear on same thing all seeking attention )

Fine - but I started reading that post and it was about team selection and the build up to the game.
My post is about the actual game.
If there’s just one post per game isn’t there a risk that it’s likely to ramble on discussing all sorts of things relating to the game?

    Like a few people have said, last night was two points dropped upon reflection - regardless of whether we would have taken a point before kick off. To summarise what I watched last night I'd say the following;
    1. General set up and play seems more positive and people playing in their "correct" positions (in the most).
    2. Just before the first goal Murray decided to swap around the back three even though it was working, and he moved Anderson to the middle of the three (sweeping). The first goal came from Helik sliding in and missing the ball, and Anderson not being switched on to cover him. That's your job if you're playing in the middle of three centre halves. Murray swapped them back round afterwards so he obviously realised the mistake!
    3. Second goal is just an error and this kind of thing happens. Jack deserves one for free due to his previous performances and needs to bounce back.
    4. Woodrow looked sharper and hungrier than recent weeks and probably had his best game for a number of months. He just needs to be regimented in staying in the centre forward position.
    5. We all know it but I'll say it again - we need a plan B striking option that offers something different. With a big strong forward we could have peppered the box for the last 10-15mins last night, but we simply haven't got that option.

Overall it was a positive that we didn't lose, but it's extremely frustrating when it's clear what needs addressing yet the board don't seem to want to deal with it

Thats the idea Nudge--a bit like being at the game with thi mates.

Better than loads of single post threads all saying the same thing--Goal, 0-1, We've scored, 1-0 to us, Winning, etc etc.
