I've just watched the incident again on the clip that CAM posted (provided by Norwich).

Interestingly the Norwich commentator initially seemed to think their player may have been in trouble as a result of the challenge that saw McDonald sent off.

The referee immediately produced the red card for McDonald.

A number of Norwich players then approached McDonald in an aggressive manner and several Rotherham players stepped in to protect their team-mate.

The whole thing was just a minor scuffle with no real harm done. A written warning to both clubs about their future conduct should be the maximum sanction. Anything else would be a total overreaction.

Doubt it sorted but if enough complain they may think about it again at least

So the charge is against the club for “failing to ensure their players behaved in an orderly fashion”

Just practically what can the club do?

Tell them not to do it?

Beyond that nothing much else can be done, managers can’t enter the field of play to pull their players away or anything similar. Shouting “don’t do that you naughty boy” from the dug out maybe?

    It’s ludicrous

Analyse the footage and fine players by all means, but fining the club seems just “fundraising”

Its rule E20. It seems to be designed to stop numerous players rushing in to an incident from different parts of the pitch to aggravate a situation - like we saw in the Norwich game.

The responsibility is with the club.

I think it was Alexandra Burke that was the catalyst for those unsavoury incidents.
Maybe the football authorities should ask her for comment

Responsibilty lies with the club to control their players and pay the fine if not. Many clubs been done under this rule.

It came in during the period Kean was capt of Man U and the many flare ups including those in Arsenal games.
