Did better with regard to possession this week but "shots on target" and "fouls" is still not good.

    Possession
    Home 37%
    Away 63%

    Shots
    Home7
    Away10

    Shots on Target
    Home6
    Away2

    Corners
    Home4
    Away5

    Fouls
    Home9
    Away13

The scoreline flattered Reading. While we looked attractive in the first half we lacked guile in the final third. Reading were resolute in defence and cleverly let us knock ourselves out chasing everything and then gradually took a grip on the game as we tired.

I support the high press approach but sometimes I think we take it too far. There were countless times where we scurried around while they had the ball in their third trying to put them off their stride. It rarely worked and the ball came out anyway. This is exhausting for the players and not really productive. It's no coincidence that we have struggled in the second half in nearly all our games this season.

At least we know what happens when we dont score the first goal.
Why the mish mash kit? 3 50 quid shirts on sale. If ever there was a chance to wear the grey one.

They were very canny. Dropped off first half, trusted their strong defence and asked us if we could get through them, we couldn’t really but no one else has this season. Then after they nick a goal after a few mistakes from us, they can press us more in the second half and our passing unsurprisingly isn’t the same.

As for all the tactical suggestions on here - we can’t be sure if we’d done summat else it would have gone any better. All depends this season on how quickly we can learn and how much consistency we can eke out of the players.

Positive for me: I’ve always lived in the south east so haven’t been able to attend more than 5-10 games a season, so really enjoying being able to watch week in week out on ifollow. Just wish it wasn’t in these circumstances.

Our passing was excellent and we made the ball do the work and we didn't tire as we have before in the latter stages but analysis of their goals sums our bad luck up .The first goal was scored from an offside position and the second was an overhead kick which came out of nowhere. The third was a bad mistake by Wood which Icky tried to correct but finished up fouling the player and also getting a yellow card.If we play Ladapo from the start and Miller with Thompson replacing Wood,we should be alright for next week plus Angus will be back for the Saturday game.Reading must think they've got away with that and the result totally flattered 'em.

Our team is one of the tallest in the league and warne says he trained a lot on set pieces why the fk can’t we head a ball on target from a corner
