    But it's on the pitch where the greed is ruining the game, there's eleven greedy buggers whinging about the other eleven greedy buggers!

    There is too much money at some levels, combined with a serious lack of accountability and ownership but to say money has ruined the game is a tad simplistic!

    If i compare what I have watched over the past two decades with what i watched over the previous two decades before that. I'd say the skill level was higher, we see some extremely skilled talented players and a faster more skillful game on the whole. The standard of pitches has improved enormously, I remember when even at top grounds by Christmas most pitches resembled a croos between a desert and a ploughed field!

    Stadiums are generally much better for the fan, safer and more congenial places to go to.

    On the whole its the tinkering with the rules by administrators that has reduced it as a spectacle.

    I suspect however that as in most things the rose tinted spectacles of some old fogeys on here is behind many of the comments!
