I was born just in time for the new season, 1952/3. The first game was a 3-0 defeat away to Leicester, but I can take consolation from the fact that a week later we beat Forest 3-2 at home. The attendance for the Forest game was very nearly 40000, but I don’t remember being among them!

The first game after I came into this world was a thrilling 0-0 against Darlingrad in Division Four in the summer of '65 witnessed by 7,388 attendees at the Lane.

Born as the 2nd wave of a pandemic took hold in 1969, the Hong Kong flu. Notts' match was postponed.

Day after he was born, Notts made their first home appearance on ITV (Star Soccer), 1-1 v Walsall, September 1972

What a great website. Thanks @ncfcog for the link.

For me it was a 3-4 home defeat by Southampton (where I now live, spooky) on 6th January 1951 in front of a crowd numbering 29,260.

The first league game was a 3-2 home win over Grimsby in the old Div 2 on 13th January. Only 24,849 turned up for that.

First league game after Albert Iremonger was born, lost 2-1 to Everton at Anfield.
Albert was 4 years old at the time.

Agreed! Good idea, let's hope the thread doesn't get hijacked!

The first game after Jimmy Sirrel was born, we lost 1 - 2 v Port Vale. The same season we lost in the SF of the FA Cup.
