    Our best team

Ok, so 'best' is a loaded word with some of the players we've got in the squad but it is what it is, I guess. So, if all the squad were fit, who would make our first 11?

    ..................................Dubravka........ ........................

    Manquillo..............Schar........Fernandez..... ........Lewis

    Saint-Maximin....M Longstaf...S Longstaff......Fraser

    ..............................Almiron.........

    ....................................Wilson

Either that or play Hayden in with the Longstaffs and push the Saint into a front 3 with Wilson and Miggy and drop Fraser. Schar isn't the strongest in a pair but is the next best cb after Fernandez and, given a run-and the trust of their muppet...sorry, 'manager', the Longstaffs would be our most effective pairing, imo. We saw from Sean under Rafa that he's equal to the passing range of Shelvey and I think Matty is more forward thinking than Hayden.

Howay, let's get some football talk going before the weekend.

Same here. I’d also recall Lejeune and play him and Fernandez at CB. I like Schar but he’s not firing on all cylinders just now.

Absolutely. Getting rid of Lejeune was a massive mistake , imo.

The speed of our defence's decline under Bruce is appalling.

It is quite remarkable how he's made us shit at defending as well as attacking. Perhaps that's what he means when he says he's trying to change us? For a brief period in my Newcastle-supporting life, under Rafa I was hearing pundits say all sorts of positive stuff about our defence...Mrs Doubtfire has managed to shut them up for sure, ha h h....no, wait, it was us he wanted to shut up.

    Oh.

    bugger.

    You're kidding right?

Wilson plays waaaaay deeper than that.
