Sources in Newcastle telling me that Khaled is actually broke and is borrowing the money to buy the club. I have no idea whether that's true or not.

I would, however, hope, that Mel has done his background checks on him very thoroughly.

I thought thats what all "successful" businessmen do? I mean doesn't Trump have something like $500 million dollar in debt? Branson's the same, the models quite simple borrow money and try and make millions with it!

MA the Prem have never given Newcastle a reason why the offer as rejected .That's why Ashley is taking them to court .I would have assumed that Ashleys legal team would have done due diligence on it Something doesn't seem right though if he is worth the billions the press say he is you wouldn't think there would be a problem Anyway ours is with the EFL now so expect an answer sometime in 2023

To be fair GP in the case of the EFL's FFP charge against Derby they are appealing the decision of the Independent tribunal, but your sentiment is correct!

I've no idea what the criteria are for assessing the fitness of a person or organisation that aims to take control of a football club, but clearly with Wigan they didn't accept that they may have made a misjudgment!

I hear that Chris Samuelson and Andrew Obolensky have both been removed from the deal? Perhaps to get it over the line?
