    Another takeover rumour

A senior member of the Abu Dhabi royal family is said to be interested in a Derby County takeover.

Apparently failed at Liverpool and Newcastle and as such Derby are on the radar....

    Abu Dhabi County?

John Percy has now reported this in the Telegraph.

I saw it earlier today here... https://theathletic.com/news/derby-n...d/2pJQROiLw7Cn

Also confirms a rumour I told a couple of my fellow posters a week or so ago.

Newcastle fans weren't too happy with the idea of Sheikh Khaled taking over due to the human rights issues in Saudi and their involvement in the Yemeni conflict. One could get excited at his wealth but not with some wider issues.

Unsubstantiated Twitter rumour......... Stephen Gerrard in as Manager.

I don't see that happening. Not yet anyway. He looks like he has a chance of breaking Celtic's monopoly and give the 'Gers their first League Title for a decade and he has 2 games, 2 wins in the Europa League and looks odds on to qualify for the knockout stage (won't win it but the farther he gets, the better for his CV)

Plus, whatever carrot was dangled, would he really come to us?

Not a lot as it was only formed last month. Owned by a Gibralter company, which itself was only formed in August - Derventio Holdings Limited. 3 directors, none of which have any other disclosed involvement in companies in UK under those names, but see below: (1) UAE, (2) Swiss resident.

2 of the 3 directors of Derventia (Obolensky and Samuelson) are past board directors at Reading (2012 - 2014), leaving at the same time as Anton Zingarevich, who flogged his 51% share in Reading for a quid back in 2014. AZ had been implicated in a £ 30 million embezzlement / fraud

Given that Derventio appears to be a latinised version of Derwent, there is maybe a link to Derby?( 2012-2014)
