    Nobby Stiles

Nobby Stiles, another member of that famous 66 World Cup winning team has sadly passed away. Still remember him for dancing around the pitch at the end with the World Cup in one hand and his false teeth in the other!

There cannot be many of that side left alive now. I was a thir**** year old kid sitting on the beach at Saundersfoot listening to the quarter final against Argentina on a transistor radio. I remember the beach erupting when we scored. 50 odd years ago. Seems like yesterday.

I have had his autobiography in my stock for quite sometime. Just found I'd sold it about 20 minutes ago. Logged on here and saw Tipps OP now I know why. Sad to read his passing at least he lived a full life until dementia got him

    Terrible manager for us.

Second major “comb over” exponent of the week to pop his clogs after Frank Bough.

Bobby Charlton must be shaking in his boots.......these things come in threes.

I hear his family are accusing the game of “deserting him in his hours of need”.

We hear this a lot from footballers and it p e e s me off........even in the 60’s and 70’s they were earning 4-5 times what the average bloke was and then he coached at Man Utd until the early 2000’s which was 30 years after he finished playing.

By his early 60’s he should’ve had the sense to have got himself very comfortable.........he did after dinner speaking and we all know that this was a “brown envelope” and an easy way to earn lots of cash.

Great player and a great character and a sad demise but in truth....the game owed you F U C K ALL Nobby!

    RIP.
