"The "experts" are telling us that if we do nowt then there will be a horrific loss of life over winter and the NHS won't be able to cope."

Oh dear, that old canard again, I suspect 59 that these are the same 'experts' who said the NHS wouldn't be able to cope last spring, and persuaded the government to construct god knows how many temporary hospitals (Nightingales) with temporary morgues attached. Dust continues to gather on them and the tumbleweed continues to blow through them as they remain unused. The same 'experts' who predicted over half a million deaths, or was it just 250,000, doesn't matter, they were wrong. But I do suspect it's those same 'experts' still running the show, I'm glad you have some faith in them, I just look at their track record and laugh.

"Once restrictions are lifted then cases will go up."

Exactly, and in the meantime, more cancelled operations, waiting lists lengthen, more depression, more child abuse. more cancer deaths, more heart attack victims, more jobs lost, more businesses destroyed, billions more debt piled up, but if you think it's worth it 59, just to give them more time to sort out track and trace, then fair enough. You do realise though that they won't fix track and trace, and all the mayhem I've described, plus plenty more I haven't, will have been for nothing, because as you admit, the virus will still be there doing it's job at the end of it.

Not if you get it 59, maybe BT could donate his blood for antibodies.

Pretty useless strategy if little Johnny meets little Tommy at school and little Jane's parents are corona positive and they all meet up at school next day is it?

Test and trace has never worked so that won't save us. This lockdown nonsense did not work in April and it won't work now.

Herd immunity is the answer, but these eejits want to completely kill off the economy.

Where are the bloody ISIS terrorists when we really need them?

Bloody hell Alto, we've been crossing swords and falling out since time eternity, but you have this one dead right...

We have no opposition, all we have is a Cabal of Cabinet Minister Conservative and Unionist Cretins who do not have a phucking clue what they are doing.

How the phuck did we get to this?

I'm quite prepared to accept a 4 week lockdown, but it should have been done 6 weeks ago like the "experts" were suggesting.

And keeping kids in school etc is absolutely bonkers. They are spreaders of the disease even if it doesn't do them much harm. He's done half a job. Which, to be fair, is a bit more than he normally does.

Why ? Do you really believe a two week 'circuit breaker' in September would have got rid of the virus, and now we'd be back to normal, watching football and planning Christmas and New Years Eve Parties just like last year ? I really do worry about you mon ami, you seem to be losing your grip on reality.
