The first "poppy" weekend of 2020 wasn't one to remember in the real world (damn you, you rat-faced assassin!), but how did you get on in the shadowy netherworld of the PL?

If you were Yeboah01 (OxEE), you happened to do very well indeed, thank you very much. Our huge-buttocked Ghanaian picked up 15 points out of the twenty-four available without having to rely on unreliable Derby (sorry Belper, I couldn't resist!). The PL is a meritocratic hegemony innit.

Dalek_Sec (xxEE) and Rev72 (xxEE) both scored 12 from exact scores in the League One and League Two fixtures. All PL fixtures are created equal. Some are just more equal than others.

Dalek remains a cleared boundary ahead of Rev72, with the Fab Four of Belper69Ram, Cherrypie7, Lufcjohn88 and Yeboah01 an additional nine points further back in a chummy share of third.

There were two (1-1) draws, so Johnny_Default picked up six and moves to 30 points for the season. Any Strike One, Strike Two or Strike Three posters scored six, four or two points through no effort whatsoever.

    The results

    (PL) Villa v Southampton 3-4
    (C) Bournemouth v Derby 1-1
    (L1) MK v Dons 1-1
(L2) The Smiths (artistic license) v Inspiral Carpets 2-0

The next fixtures are out as a separate thread.

    All the best! Stay safe!

Couldn't agree more. Overall we are pretty cr**. Without Sheff Wednesday's deduction we would be rock bottom. However, following the sale to Shake My Wallet we'll be flush with cash to sign a load of new players in January.

Too many clubs have been there I'm afraid. Stick English I say, too many times the foreign owners have pulled the plug after a short time when they lose interest. Having said that, it can work well and has done several times - look at Leicester in recent years.
