Prostrate cancer is a scary one to get . Not that old either.
Lee Kerslake, human metronome and backing singer in Uriah Heep, outstanding on their Live 73 double album.
Box, Byron, Kerslake, Thain and Hensley was the classic line-up.
I believe he later found cartoon work with Ozzy Osbourne.
Top sticksman. 73 years old. Prostate cancer the cause of death.
Ach.
Prostrate cancer is a scary one to get . Not that old either.
Feck me, Ken Hensley now, Uriah Heep classic line-up piano man “on organ and mood simplifier” according to the late singer David Byron on the Live 1973 album. Aged 75, and “died peacefully”, ironic considering that they were such noisy ****ers.
Major kudos to Hensley for his work with Paul Kossoff.
By my reckoning, that leaves only Mick Box alive of the classic Byron, Box, Hensley, Thain and Kerslake version of the band.
Mortality, eh?

Today's P&J (Highland edition? Sort it oot, Pressreader) has an obituary headlined "Uriah Heep guitarist Ken Hensley". With that sort of incisive accuracy, it may be that Shankland's moonlighting on the DCT subs' desk.
