You start by watching your team get battered on a cold winters evening in Burnley, decades ago and as child, something happens, and there is no vaccine for what infects you. Owners (at least modern day owners) don't suffer from such ailments, and their immunity gives them the ability to buy and sell with football as a business, and the passion they undoubtedly feel is driven by the success of the club as a business first and foremost, unfortunately (and will be for ever more, equally unfortunately!).
