Suppose in signing Dorrans we had managed to gain promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season would you have had the same view.

We never looked close to it.

But yes, I’d have the same view. I’d prefer to see players committed for the season as a minimum so that everyone is in it together.

Being in the Premier League isn’t my sole ambition for Dundee FC, a Club to be proud of where everyone is doing their best - board, staff, mgt, team and fans - where everyone feels part of the effort and enjoys that.

Right now our Club feels soulless and distant from the fans, not just due to Covid. Signing players with “I’ll go when I want” clauses only adds to that.

Since the Yanks took over and Bill Colvin resigned as Chairman the fans have become more and more distant instead of feeling part of the club.

Our CEO is only interested in interacting with certain 'fan leaders' who are, shall we say, a tad more sycophantic than the average fan in The Derry. He also knows the enticements to offer those fans to keep them onside.
