What short term gains? This is your interpretation. Views are polarised because being an EU member is a loser, yet you think that being part of the EU is desirable, hence your comment on the UK rejoining and be more willing participants.

    What egotistical nonsense.

Britain discussed the shortcomings of the EU for decades, it took no notice. The British are by nature patient and polite, but it does come to an end.

This made up nonsense is typical of socialists, you cant win nowt with truth, logic, and honesty. Why do you peddle these narcissistic lies, you know you are doing it.

Narcissists function on the assumption that people are there for them, and are there to be used. Look at the disgusting behaviour of the Eu over the negotiations.

It comes as a shock that Britain wants to leave. A greater shock is that it is the best thing for this country.

This is the depth of the disturbance you have oldboy, and the remainers.

And for the Eu, im sure they dont think theres anything wrong. Narcs and psychpaths dont think theres anything wrong with them either. What are the chances of you acknowledging anything that doesnt fit your delusions? None.

The result is polarisation, and in the old days, war. You are wrong, but you dont know it.

You may well be right Psaw when you say that “you can’t win nowt with truth, logic, and honesty”.

I will now go away for a few hours to continue work on my autobiography. Sincere thanks to the many gifted posters on this thread for providing much needed material for my chapter on UK/EU relations. You can expect my autobiography to include some of your insightful and memorable quotes.

For me, the highlights have to be:

“All of Europe is corrupt, it’s a way of life, and they don’t see anything wrong with that”.

“No politician would put their careers and the government at risk for a few quid”.

“There have been no signed-off EU accounts since Methuselah was a lad”.

“The Guardian is the enemy of the people”.

“The EU is the new Russia”.

“The utter basket case that was the EU even before the UK left and before COVID-19 occurred has got f*uck all chance”.

“The EU cannot avoid becoming bankrupt”.

“It should be much easier for the EU to find corruption within itself because there is vastly more of it”.

“The EU is going to get smaller and go out of business as an entity. The main difference between the UK and the EU is that the UK has got a pot to p*iss in”.

“Despite being routinely p*issed on by the EU the UK has a rock-solid fundamental economy which is so vastly superior to the whole of the EU that comparison, if it could be made, would be embarrassing to the EU”.

“The EU is utterly f*ucked and the UK has a very bright future as an independent country governed by its elected politicians rather than by un-elected villains in Brussels”.

    Thanks and Goodnight.

Howoldboy has convinced me. It is obvious that for many years Greece, Italy and Spain have been subsiding the UK by their generous net contributions to EU funds, which the UK has grasped. There have also been vast contributions to EU funds from all those other southern and eastern members of the EU that are thriving from being in the Euro Zone, which has been an overwhelming success.

I believe that the UK outside the EU will not have a pot to piss in, so who will trade with it? Obviously no fucker will do so. It will suffer all kinds of pestilence, drought, and then the opposite, it will sink beneath the surface of the sea. Then French and Belgian trawlers will fish where the UK had been.

Meanwhile the EU, without being encumbered by the need to continuously subsidise the UK, will kick arse worldwide. The likes of Putin, Biden and Xi Jinping will fear the incredible strength of the EU. Aliens will not consider invading the Earth because of the formidable power of a totally united EU.

I always hoped someone else would get it. Thank you TI.

The book will be in all good booksellers as soon as I have finished the chapter on the Sunlit Uplands of Brexit.

Contributions from the usual suspects detailing the many advantages, benefits & opportunities arising from Brexit (obviously from a UK perspective) would be much appreciated.

I recently had a conversation with someone who was convinced she was 100 per cent right. She was wrong because she didnt have the info i had, and wouldnt have believed it anyway.

How many things do you believe in 100 per cent, but are actually wrong? I dont only mean politics. Are all people who dont agree with you wrong? Is your insistence on being right nothing but ego, silliness, and pig headedness.

If there is evidence that you might be wrong, isnt it better to take note? There is evidence that poor people, aka socialists are lacking grey matter, is that you oldboy?

Has your mind been fried by substances? That might be a bit over the top, but it is pertinent.

If people believe they are right about something, how can you expect them to realize they are wrong if you won't engage in a good faith debate and address their arguments to show why they are wrong? I believe in socialism, I think it's the right system to have to benefit everyone. I'm open minded about it though, I like hearing different opinions and I'm happy to listen to people explaining why they think capitalism is better. But there has to be mutual respect on both sides of the debate, you can't expect people to engage with you if you are insulting them. Saying "socialists are lacking grey matter" isn't very respectful is it?

See my other reply on the politics thread. I do get frustrated. It hurts doesnt it. Its the only explanation. Socialism is nonsense, acquiring power isnt. Socialism is the vehicle by which these people get it, and succeed at times.

On the same subject Psaw I was watching Sunak being interviewed tonight. They are talking of him as a future Prime Minister. He is clearly far more gifted than Johnson.

But realistically, based on your knowledge of the far right, would the 52% really vote for someone who doesn't have blonde hair and blue eyes?

Yes. Sunak is a genius. Patel is just as gifted. Look at Labours rising star, David Lammy.

Did you know that Sunak is the UK’s richest MP.

His family must have made a fortune with that Crisp business.

Did they have XL Crisps as far south as Cambridge?
