Hmac. Vote labour in the expectation that they are more likely to put a dent in SNP drive for independence. The only reason for all the rush is the life expectancy of a political leader. We need to see how Brexit works out. Everything is doom and gloom. The same was true when we had to leave the ERM. If Brexit doesn't work out it would be ironic if England decided to rejoin and Scotland was struggling to comply with currency and budget deficits.

Richard Leonard is a hard no from me.

The loony left of the main Labour Party is a hard no from me.

The ghost of Corbyn is hanging around, making Labour unelectable.

I am not so sure. I know Marxism is part of the left but as was seen when Corbyn was in charge they just do not trust the people despite all their protestations to the contrary. There is a strong Christian Democratic ethos in Britain but it does not have a single party to represent it. One Nation Tories, Lib-Dems and the Labour party when it is not in thrall to Militants or Trade Unions might possibly follow a Labour leader like Sir Keir Starmer. I think unionist minded voters might vote for Labour at the next election probably because unemployment might be a major issue and this could be a problem for the present Conservative government because they chose to make decisions rather than include other parties and parliament.

Up here Labour are the only alternative choice to the SNP. Until more of the electorate realise this and vote accordingly we will be stuck with the SNP.

Surprised by your pessimism. Any specific reasons?

Labour members picked the wrong brother when they selected Ed Miliband instead of his brother David Miliband.
Labour would have won the 2015 General Election if David Miliband had been leader of the Labour Party instead of ‘Red’ Ed Miliband.

Why would people vote Labour who don't have a socialist bone in their body?

And to suggest that Labour are the only alternative smacks of not having previously learned from past mistakes.

I'd suggest the conservatives who arnt really conservative are far more of a threat to the SNP than Labour.

I'd struggle to name a high profile Scottish Labour MSP apart from Leonard, I cud probably rattle aff a dozen SNP and half a dozen Tories and a couple of greens and lib dems.
