It is a comprehensive Charge, which presumably represents EWM's security if CUFC do not comply with the terms of the loan.

Therefore the terms of the loan are even more significant.

If CUFC continue (or start) to repay the loan, in accordance with the terms and conditions, there should not be a problem.....or am I missing something?

Even with the monthly transfer fee payments coming in and even with supporters being allowed back there is not the slightest possibility of 1921 paying back any of the loan. Under the current ownership the only thing that keeps the club in existence is the monthly transfer fee payments and they will not go on for ever. The club does not have a pile of cash from the transfers. They are paid in monthly instalments and that money comes in and quickly goes out. The club always makes a substantial trading loss. What are the chances of beginning to repay the loan to EWM? There is more chance of AJ shagging Miss World.

If the EWM Liquidator wants the loan to be repaid then that takes priority over all other considerations and that is quite likely to happen. Then the very ominous Charge will be enforced.

What would be the best way to start attracting more fans to this forum over the other one?

That’s a difficult one. I can’t make changes to the format because it’s owned by DSG. To be fair though, they’re great landlords and don’t interfere at all, nor are there charges. They stepped back in March and haven’t been seen since.

I think what stopped folk coming here a while back was software issues and intrusive adds. As far as I’m concerned a couple of refreshes later the software is more stable now that its ever been. They’ve also stepped back on the ads and with suitable, ahem, defensive software I see very few.

The enemy of this board is habit. Folk have got used to the other board and there seems to be some sort of attitude that you should only post on one. As I said the other day, a lot of them are insular and don’t get around much and that will take some changing. I reckon we need to keep on about how the Cumbrians.net (or whatever it’s called) is now undoubtedly the Trust board and certainly not independent. If we start with a trickle we may get a flood. And I’m not trying to pinch posters from over there, more to remind folk that they can post on both! Only here there’s the lightest of touches from only one mod, me, whose byword is “whatever”. Oh, and this is where the truth is.

If Ibogaine can be convinced to defect to this board then many more would follow, he's a celebrity over there Would likely insist on being allowed multiple daily photoshop meme threads as his fee though.
