Bollocks...how did this end up here? I was reading and replying to the F365 quote.
Bruced.

If you were trying to join an exclusive club would you force the current members to let you join or let someone else do it?
Not saying the PIF are still interested but the fact they aren’t active in court cases doesn’t surprise me. For the same reason they haven’t openly criticized the EPL apart from Staveley, the time she said it was up to the supporters now to force a change.
I think (if what I have read is correct) that the PL only deals with the club (selling party) so all relevant documents etc go through the club. So if thats the case the PIF could not take action as they have had no direct dealings with the PL.
I can not remember where I read that but it was a while ago but it seems to fit with the consortium staying quiet on this.
The fan action is different because it is accusing the PL of breaking competition laws and is not seeking arbitration on the deal itself
Like I said I may be wrong but I am about 95% sure I read this somewhere
Here's hoping.....
Mitch (Geordie Dentitst) told a couple of days ago to sit back and watch what happens...
So...
By the way, Mick-is that the Mitch who used to post on here?
i'm still quietly confident that this will all be done and dusted before Christmas.
The arbitration process takes 2 weeks to get their people in place and another 2 weeks to get the case and the arbitrators make their decision.
We have to assume that the club started the legal part over 7-10 days ago given the PL dropping a clanger at the start of last week when confirming the club had started the process. That gives 4-7 days left in the first stage then another 2 weeks left resolving the case. Arbitration could be concluded by December 11th, PIF come back with the offer the PL have to accept , we have new owners for Christmas and Bruce can spend the new year at home as he will no longer be needed.
Latest reports are that the Saudi's have been holding meetings to discuss January targets, so i would assume they have spoken to their new manager about who he would like too.
Could be a cracking end to a shlt sandwitch of a year
i havent even had a drink yet
My worry is that the longer this goes on, the Saudis will begin to lose interest.Even though they were serious bidders, before long they're going to lose interest and find something else to do with their money.
It's like being really into a lass who is really into you but her folks aren't keen (cos you;re a wee terror )....eventually, after many weeks of wistful glances as you pass each other in the street, your eye will be caught by someone else and before you know it you've fallen for someone else.
Or something like that.
yeah i can see what you mean and id probably think the same if it wasnt for Ashley.
There is absolutely no way on earth Mike Ashley would spend money on the best QC's in the field and persue a legal challenge unless he had received assurances the deal would be pushed through in the end.
Without the Saudi's giving him the belief they will still buy, he would be wasting his time and money just to say to the PL they were wrong. What else could he gain from a legal case? He cant sue the PL for the 300m he would have gotten because he still has the asset and has lost nothing.
One thing im 100% certain of, if this deal does not happen within the next 6 weeks, we are fecked and probably going down. Burnley have got their first win and are out of the bottom 3, whereas we cant even have a shot on target when we play
