    Repaying the magic money tree

    How do we repay this?

Government borrowing hit £22.3bn in October as the UK continued heavy spending to support the economy during the coronavirus pandemic.
The figure, £10.8bn more than for the same month last year, is the highest October borrowing total since monthly records began in 1993.
Borrowing makes up the shortfall between spending by the government and the amount received in taxes.
Government revenues were £39.7bn last month, down £2.7bn from a year ago.
So far this tax year, government borrowing has reached £214.9bn, £169.1bn more than in the same period last year.

One plan is to freeze public sector pay

the Centre for Policy Studies that suggested a three-year freeze could save £23bn by 2023, or £15bn if NHS workers were exempt.

the Office for Budget Responsibility will also publish its first full assessment since March of the economic and fiscal impact of the pandemic.

Those with savings and investments must be in line for a hit.

This Cabal of Cabinet Minister Conservative and Unionist Cretins aided and abetted by their quisling sidekick Kier Starmer make Gordon Brown look like Mike Garlick.

And another £16 billion provided yesterday to boost the Armed Forces.

Where on earth is the money coming from?

We borrow money from the IMF, but as we are one of the richest countries in the world we are one of the major contributors to the IMF.

Work that one out, sounds like a gigantic Ponzi scheme to me, which one day is all going to end in tears.

Boris trying to promote the union but no coherent plan and 2 labour planned aircraft carries with no planes for 3 years and inadequate support vessels to keep them going. In a war these leviathans will last a week.
Nuts but we and our descendants will be paying for years. Pension rises to be cut as ROI is abolished, pay freezes,

My post meant to say RPI which is used as part of the triple lock is to be abolished so it’s happening sooner than we think.

They have been doing that ever since I retired through taxation and that will be the next increase to steal more from us.

They have to get some money from somewhere, lockdowns simply decimate the government's tax take. They can give me a smaller increase in my pension, it matters little, we can't go on holiday, we can't eat out, I can't go to a football match or the cinema, a tank of petrol lasts us more than a month, one of our pension just goes straight into the bank and stays there, we don't need it, we can't spend any money. If there is one thing lockdowns have done, it's boost our bank balance.
