Classical Music lovers - you can get a fix in lockdown

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall is where we used to go at weekends. Usually great evenings out.

If any of you fancy watching a digital concert there are a number for free on you tube from last years Season they fortunately recorded in the main hall before lockdown.

Usually half a normal night at between 40 - 60 mins, with some eminent conductors and soloists - quite a lot of Beethoven in the others

They have now launched a Digital Season of 10 socially distanced and longer concerts in October in their rehearsal room which cost £9.50 each or £90 for all 10. Released every 2 weeks but all available for the rest of the season

Nice to hear the orchestra and conductors speaking about how much it means to them.

Sir Roger is 86 and a perfectionist who sets the orchestra up as it was when the music was written so you get the original experience. Eg First and second violins on opposite sides of the orchestra.

I’m not musical at all, but like most Beethoven and Tchaikovsky most organ music, that Saint Saens being the best, and I like to think I may be related to Elgar, my great grandmother was an Elgar.

Elgar, eh? What an enigma.

A little know fact, but Elgar was a stauch Wolves fan and he wrote the first ever footy chant.
