I doubt the Frenchies will give a ff about our gunboats, I guarantee the cheese eating surrender monkeys will continue to fish in our waters, and we won't be able to do feck all about it.

Boris has shunned Brussels as they chewed up Theresa there. Last time he went he conceded on borders for the Withdrawal agreement which he has since tried to undermine.
Just hope he doesn’t get banjoed there tonight and keeps his red lines.
Whatever does or doesn’t happen, we’re bound to be in discussions for years.

We don’t really know what the EU will do. Some snippets I’ve seen

English banks cannot serve clients over there after Jan 1.
House owners can stay no more than 90 days and have to leave for 90. Some countries may not impose this.
    Dog passports are rescinded.
There will be tariffs on food and lots of other EU goods with no deal, but goods from outside the EU will be cheaper as EU imposed tariffs will go.
    The City may be undermined.

    Things starting to happen??

After months of wrangling, the two sides announced an “agreement in principle” as part of the Brexit Joint Committee talks. The body is chaired by Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove and European Commission vice-president Maros Sefcovic. In a joint statement, they said: “Following intensive and constructive work over the past weeks by the EU and the UK, the two co-chairs can now announce their agreement in principle on all issues, in particular with regard to the Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland.”

The agreement has secured significant climbdowns from the EU side on previous threats to blockade food supplies and cut shipments of sausages and burgers to Northern Ireland.

It also covers export declarations for products shipped from Northern Ireland to the mainland. As part of the deal, the Government has promised to drop the controversial clauses in its Internal Market Bill.

The statement says: "In view of these mutually agreed solutions, the UK will withdraw clauses 44, 45 and 47 of the UK Internal Market Bill, and not introduce any similar provisions in the Taxation Bill."

Thierry Pouch, chief economist of the French Chambers of Agriculture, said French farmers and fishermen are now "deeply concerned" over the French President's recent efforts to push the EU towards a no-deal outcome over issues around fishing and a "level playing field" on trade rules. He warned the ultimatum provided by Mr Macron, mooted by France's Europe minister Clément Beaune, could have a devastating impact on hard-fought EU unity at such a critical moment for the bloc.

Nigel worried over Boris going to Brussels

Former Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage said previous British Prime Ministers have been “ambushed” during previous meetings with the Brussels bloc and the UK “lost every time”. Mr Farage tweeted: “Thatcher, Major, Blair, Cameron and May were ambushed by going to EU meetings, we lost every time. He needs his tin hat, box and bullet proof vest!

Not sure Von der Leyen has much clout, from what I've read she was such a disaster as Defence Minister in Germany they were glad to kick her upstairs to Brussels out of harm's way. To me it looks like window dressing so Boris can say he tried everything. Barnier's hands are tied by his mandate, Merkel and Macron are the big players, this lass is just a figurehead, but I would imagine the scoff is excellent and they have a better wine list than the Spoons.

Fish courses it seems probably caught in British waters.
    Sunday deadline after no breakthrough.
Time to take our bat home.
Meanwhile Nicola is negotiating behind Borises back to get back in and give them Scottish fish.
Hoping The Salmon inquiry proves she lied to Parliament and has to resign.
