He's still 24 years old, you'd think he's in his twilight years going by the critique he gets. He arrived at the club after patchy loan spells and taking his first steps away from Celtic. His first couple of seasons could be argued to be averagish but expecting much more from the level he was coming from and his youth is mental. This season he's coming in off the back of a great year where he was a lot better rounded and consistent.

He's literally started just one game, let's wait and see how he does over the whole piece. If he proves to be an average enough bottom 6 player, that's all positive for next term, teams really struggle to sign wingers and this is his first season at top flight level.

I guess you & Shedka see something different from the rest of us. I'm sick of his inconsistencies. His continued failure to lift his head when putting in a cross. His half arsed attitude when he loses the ball. Saturday was a good example of this. First game back or not, he just wasn't interested in doing any dirty work. Lost the ball, gave up. Time & again. He won't last in a team that requires grafters.

No we and many others just have a different view, "rest of us" ha ha

Two balanced posts from the me and tope though, let's hope he gets a run and finds his form and confidence from last season, will benefit is a lot if so, he hasn't had a proper chance though this season after his injury troubles

FWIW I am also supporter of mcmullan.

I think likes of Mcmullan and appere should be kept at the club and have something to offer.

Mcmullan provided most assists last season - well above the likes of Harkes (1). He can also provide something when trying to break a time down.

Young and has something to offer - glad he has stayed to fight for his place

Harkes has been played as a defensive midfielder. Totally incomparable.

I'd love McMullan to turn it on, but the fact of the matter is after 3 years of watching him do the same things year after year, I really cannot see him suddenly improving from a bang average Championship player to a Premiership asset.

I expect McM is only still here as we are strapped for cash and he turned down a loan. Folk saying only 24 but surely thats old enough for some consistency. He has the speed needs to learn to cross but just right now he isnt good enough for spl. However think he gave more than bolton did so this is his chance now (until chalmers is fit)

Agreed. 24 years old with 160 professional football appearances, almost 90 with us. He's not exactly young & inexperienced. The average age of the England team the other week was 23 ffs.

He certainly has a chance to stake a claim in this team as I don't think Bolton is much better.
