New style penalty taking, is it fair?

Having seen Bruno Fernandes' technique on MOTD last night, I think what he does is totally wrong and should be banned.

It's one thing having a goalkeeper stay on their line before the ball is kicked for a penalty but, allowing a player to start his run then jump up before landing and then take his penalty is nothing short of feigning and an indirect free kick should have been awarded and a yellow card issued.

There's also a Crystal Palace player? who runs up then stops dead before kicking the ball, again it is not all in one fluid movement and should also be banned.

Thoughts anyone?

I can't see any problem with it apart from it makes him look a tit.

Related to the incident yesterday the rules in MLS must be different because yesterday a GK was penalised for coming off his line to save a penalty in the sudden death part of a shoot out, given a yellow card which was his 2nd of the game so he was sent off. Centre half went in goal in his place for the retake, as no subs allowed after the game had 'ended', saved the penalty and his team scored the next one to win. Karma

Agree,it draws the goalkeeper off his line so if he saves it they take it again.

Definitely makes them look a tit

I think it’s wrong, keeper concentrating and must have one foot on line for then the player tricks him to move before ball is actually kicked resulting to re-take if they miss.

Basically the rules are shyte, interpretation of the rules is shyte, refs are shyte, to sum up football at the highest levels is shyte.

So does that mean that if the penalty is scored then it stands and the player is just yellow carded. The rule only mentions the outcome being a caution.
If so that's not much of a deterrent particularly if it's in injury time to steal all of the points

It's an infringement therefore a foul.

Brammers, as I saw it, to me it was an infringement and therefore a foul. The result should have been the penalty being cancelled and the player (Fernandes) booked with a yellow card. Call it what you like, it was back in the day, called ungentlemanly conduct but seeing how the female game has picked up, that has now been dropped for s.exual wording. It would and should have been classed as bringing the game in to disrepute. The result being an indirect free kick being awarded to the opposition.

Basically his ridiculous antics of jumping up and down clearly made the keeper move so as to distract him and it made him leave the line area of his goal. If they want to allow these stupid and unfair antics by making the keeper move, then they should suffer the consequences if their shot is saved.

Yup should be back to one "smooth unbroken run up" and agree that if they falter in the run up and keeper saves then tough
