    Maurice Setters

Just heard the news that Maurice Setters sadly passed away a couple of days ago. Remember him very well as an exciting wing half in a team that I started following in the mid fifties. We sold him on to Manchester United in 1960 for the sum of £30,000 which was a tidy amount in those days. Became a very good assistant manager to Jack Charlton in the Rep of Ireland glory days. RIP

Hard as nails! Always remember in the early sixties when Albion played Wolves, you had Maurice playing at right half for us and Eddie Clamp for Wolves. Say no more! RIP.

A monster of a player, he used to scare me even when I was safely jammed in the middle of the North Bank. He had varicose veins in his legs thicker than my ankles! Half decent player though.

    RIP

If he wasn't one of ours we would be listing him as one of the dirtiest players ever!

He looked like an escaped convict.

Never saw him, but heard a bit about him.

    RIP Mo.
