    Swansea City v Sheffield Wednesday

Tonight Sheffield Wednesday are the visitors to the Liberty Stadium kick off 19:45.
It’s tight at the top with Norwich, Bournemouth and Brentford all winning last night. Rotherham, who we found hard to score against on Saturday , conceded three at QPR.
The Owls dismissed Monk after poor run of results and brought in the experienced Pulis. His first game in charge ended in defeat for his new team by the odd goal at Preston and without a shot on target so he’ll be looking for an improvement tonight. They are three points from safety and bottom but one in the table after a 12 point deduction subsequently reduced to 6 points on appeal.
Swans leading scorer Ayew and key defender Guehi missed the Rotherham match, both recovering from hamstring injuries suffered whilst on International duty and may not recover in time for tonight. Also missing are Gyokeres and Garrick, who are self isolating after positive Covid-19 tests.

    FT 1-1
A dreadful first half where we conceded a soft goal from a corner, Reach unmarked on 27’, and zero shots on target.
We rang the changes at half time, Ayew and Palmer coming on for Cullen and Naughton.
Ayew scored a fine solo effort on 60’ to equalise, but we couldn’t find the winner.
Manning and Routledge on for Bidwell and Lowe on 61’, but the Owls held firm.
We had the ball in the net deep in injury time but the ref ruled foul on the goalkeeper, much to the anger of the players and the bench.
Two points dropped you’ve got to say. Only one man scoring the goals is a problem and big defenders outmuscling us another.

We have to beat sides like this if we have thoughts on an auto promotion spot. At the moment the way we are playing it’s a play off spot at best. We are not scoring enough goals. We are trying not to be outmuscled by these big sides but we are collecting yellow cards in the process, 3 to 0 last night.
