Ever since I was about 5 I have lived, breathed and loved football. I thought George Best was a genius, but Pele was playing in a different level to anyone I have ever seen.

Ever since I was about 5 I have lived, breathed and loved football. I thought George Best was a genius, but Pele was playing in a different level to anyone I have ever seen.

If I’m being honest Bt I’m a great studier of the game , I love it just like you - I’ve played at a decent level ( counties ) represented Yorkshire a few times aswell, and I’ve been lucky enough to play with a few of our ex players later in my career in tournaments in Germany ( Eli was my favourite ) and still a friend now. ( though I haven’t seen him for some time ).

But I’ve watched and watched and watched the greats over and over including pele who I agree is a great , but I look at players like Messi who I think is a wizard and genuinely turns games on their heads at club level , but then you look at Diego who did it at club level ( not surrounded by other genius footballers as Messi was and Pele for that matter when it came to internationally) .

I’m looking past the hand-of god and the troubles and drugs and just judging on football ability alone and there is no doubt in my mind he’s the greatest of the generation .
