If they're going to sack every commentator that uses the word handbags it'll have to be a cull of Danish mink-esque proportions.

Wow! If this is the new standard then Swale needs to stand down for starting the 'handbags' thread and me too for thinking it's a good idea.

Have we really sunk this low?

Do you not realise that the word 'pork' could be construed as offensive to certain religions?

It reminds me of a brilliant riposte I saw years ago to some sanctimonious vegan person on telly who was saying how cruel it was for humans to eat god's creatures. The reponse was "if god didn't want us to eat pigs, why did he make them taste of bacon"?

    Try answering that one!

If anyone argues with a "handy day luggage" title, I will finally have to admit defeat.

I really object. "Night time matters" and I don't see why that should be excluded. All nocturnals to meet at the Old Market Square, just before sunset* with their luggage and show those diurnals who's boss.

*If you can't make it at sunset there is a second attempt at daybreak.

And do YOU know that the word 'religion' could be considered offensive to certain atheists?

That's a funny one too. I have friends who are devout Christians and they used to call me an Atheist until I asked them if they also had a name for someone who didn't believe in Santa Claus. We're still friends though 🙂
